Kiara (00:05)
Hi, I'm Kiara.
Tanesha (00:07)
And I'm Tanisha and you're now entering the Sista Check. Welcome to Main Event Mamas.
Kiara (00:14)
Hi, still can't do the noise, but I'm here this week and fingers crossed my voice will hold on.
Tanesha (00:17)
Not be smart, ⁓ my god.
Kiara (00:25)
Fingers crossed my voice holds on this week. I want to thank y'all for holding us down last week because y'all definitely tuned in to the tune of over 60 views on our latest video, which we appreciate so much. And 50 over our last wrestling one. So thanks for letting us know you care what we say because we are down to share all the thoughts at any given time. So we just wanted to say that. And then we want to remind you that this is your moment to hit that subscribe button.
So you don't miss not one content drop. So you know exactly what's going on with the mamas because we have some pretty big news coming up soon. And you don't want to be lost when you can hang out with us live, right?
Tanesha (01:09)
Right.
Kiara (01:09)
So.
Okay, well, with that, that going, because delayed, ⁓ we will hit our Streets Are Talking moment because apparently somebody's talking. Me, the Streets, the birds, the bees. I, I don't know. Okay. So this week, there is a lot going on in the wrestling world. Do I need to take a moment for you? Are you okay?
Tanesha (01:23)
Is it?
⁓ lord. I'm good, I'm just...
Kiara (01:38)
Anyway, so we're just gonna keep rolling. I want to take a moment and talk about what's going on in the world of wrestling. So I think the first thing we should talk about, which everyone spent, I don't know, how many days referring to that situation with the Knox promotion, with the MMM fighter coming out of the crowd and attacking, I think the guy's name is Syco STU that was the craziest video I have ever seen in my life. And that says a lot because...
Tanesha (01:57)
Mm-hmm.
I
Kiara (02:06)
We done seen some things. mean, world star. You know what saying? Like we seen some things. Yeah, I can't sing it. So thank you. But a wrestler. They say he's a wrestler, but I'm just say MM fighter named Raja Jackson, who was the son of a legendary UFC fighter, Quentin Rampage Jackson came out there crowd and assaulted, like I said, Psycho Stew. However.
Tanesha (02:11)
World star.
Kiara (02:33)
We also found out that this was supposed to be a work and it went wrong. And I would say it went really wrong. And to the tune of ⁓ a immediate emergency room visit, he was in very serious condition. It was awful. ⁓ But there's a lot that's happened since this news first broke. It was great to hear that he's awake and talking, but probably has a long recovery ahead of him.
Tanesha (02:38)
Mm.
Kiara (03:00)
Really confused about Raja. I heard recently, I think today as a matter of fact that Raja Jackson's apparently supposed to be doing another indie stint at somebody else's promotion, which is a little crazy and irresponsible of them. But then it wasn't just, you know, Raja who may get the brunt of the things. mean, Knox Promotion lost their WWE ID affiliation.
Tanesha (03:18)
Mm-hmm.
Kiara (03:27)
Which, you know, that had to hurt since Rikishi is one of the key members of that promotion. if... It was a rough situation all the way around. But like I said, I'm just glad to hear Psycho Stew is doing better. Did you hear about that? What'd you think
Tanesha (03:42)
I I did, I saw the videos. ⁓ I So I was saying I definitely seen it. seen the videos. I definitely have thoughts and feelings about the videos that I saw. And, you know...
Kiara (03:47)
Yes.
Tanesha (03:59)
It definitely, if it was a work, the young man definitely didn't know it was a work. He did, like, he did not understand that. And I've seen, like, the different videos of when, you know, when he supposedly pretended to hit him in the head with a can, but he actually hit him in the head with a can. Like, he didn't hit his hand. And it was just like, like he didn't hit.
Kiara (04:24)
Yeah, I see that.
Tanesha (04:27)
His, like, you know how he'll be like, okay, boom, let me hit you and I'm hitting my hand. No, the can went over here while your hand was still here. Like you didn't, like, you know. ⁓ So I felt like he had the right to press him, like, yo, what you doing? And then they had to gently remind him, he doesn't know, right? Cause he didn't know it was a work. Y'all didn't tell that young man it was a work? He proceeded to come as somebody's guest and was just like, hey, you know, trying to be in it, but.
It was clear that he didn't know. Then there was another video of him apologizing. So I saw that one and it was like, okay, cool. But then you see the other video of the person who was no longer working at that professional league.
Kiara (05:13)
yeah, yeah, that was the other part of the fallout. He got fired. Sheesh, ouch. Sorry.
Tanesha (05:17)
Right, he got fired. But if you look at the video,
you are clearly telling him to go hand him his receipts. Now, once again, I don't think this young man understood what a work was. He's an MMA fighter. In MMA, they fight different than ⁓ wrestling, our professional entertainment wrestling. Okay? So this, don't think he fully understand
Kiara (05:32)
Probably not.
Yes.
Tanesha (05:46)
that he wasn't supposed to go in there and go hit, to like hurt him. And I'm gonna tell you, if I have somebody in my ear telling me, no, we don't, and if he, if he got a problem, I'm gonna come handle it. So you didn't come out there and come handle nothing. And now you're sitting here trying to back paddle. I didn't do it. I don't know. They just told, they told me to do this and da da. Now granted, I'm not saying that someone probably did not tell you. And I don't wanna make this the other dude. I don't know what he's saying, the one.
Kiara (06:10)
Tell who? We talking about Raja or talking about... who we talking about? Psycho
Stew? Or the dude who was... Okay, so the... okay, okay. So the other guy. Yeah, I'm sorry. I don't know.
Tanesha (06:16)
No, no, The dude who got fired. I don't know his name. Yes, I don't know his name. I did
watch him on a podcast. They had an interview and, you know, he was talking and I was just sitting here listening like, you're upset, but you let them play you. If you really saying that you didn't know, you let them play you. And you said that they do these type of things. Okay.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to make this a race thing, but immediately when I saw it, was like, you, neither one of y'all should be there. Cause it looked like what it looked like. I'ma leave it there. I ain't going for it with that. But so to hear him sit here on a podcast complaining and you know, I was, it was like, but you put yourself there. That's the one thing, it doesn't matter how bad I made it.
Kiara (07:09)
The problem is all
the footage. I think that's the problem is all the footage.
Tanesha (07:11)
Uh-huh, that's the other thing. It's all the footage. It's all the footage,
and you're trying to backpedal out yourself saying someone said something and told you to do something, which I don't doubt that they didn't tell you. But they set you up for sure, and you look like the bad person. And then on top of that, y'all set up the other person. Y'all knew what y'all were doing. Whoever set this up, they knew what they were doing and how they were trying to perceive this for a reason. And that's what I don't like.
Kiara (07:30)
Yes.
Tanesha (07:40)
that you are setting certain things up for people to end up taking a fall for an idea that you had. And then go, yes, but look at all this footage. Yes, okay, look at all this footage. Yes, okay, he didn't realize he hit him upside his head. Or maybe he did realize he hit upside his head, how he picked him up. Who knows? I don't know. But also, I know me as a person who has, any person, if you hear somebody telling you, no, go handle that.
Then forget all that noise. Forget that noise that he apologized. Go handle that. Hand him his receipt. What you think that means? That he was just gonna go kubaya?
Kiara (08:22)
that
I mean okay no probably not probably no kumbaya
Tanesha (08:29)
cool by y'all because you know like I said if you look at the video you see that he hits him in the head with a can and yes he did apologize right right but I mean granted yes he did apologize but now you have somebody else who's your color telling you to go handle something don't let they disrespecting you don't don't let that don't let him telling you he's sorry it's okay and say I got your back and then proceed to not have your back
Kiara (08:36)
Yes, I did see that. I didn't see it the first time, but yes.
Tanesha (08:58)
Like, come on. I mean, it's still a...
Kiara (09:01)
Well, they weren't gonna have
him his back because it's a crime that was pretty much caught on camera, right?
Tanesha (09:06)
I it was.
I mean, I'm not saying that he did not need to continue to beat him up like that. Absolutely not. And on top of that, they can sit here and say it was premeditated because now you waited to come back. If you reacted the initial time, then was that really gonna be a crime? No, you reacted because he hit you upside your head. Like, I ain't gonna respond. But listen, if you hit me upside my head on my head and I let you walk away,
Kiara (09:29)
I mean.
I mean.
Tanesha (09:39)
That's all I'm saying. I ain't gonna let you walk away.
Kiara (09:41)
Okay. I hear you. Either way, it's a tough situation.
Tanesha (09:43)
Not initially, but if I come back, but it is a tough
situation, but I'm saying, if even, if we look at it, cause me and you both like crime shows, right? So initial, your initial response is your initial response. So if you decide to retaliate in that moment, you have every right to, because you're defending yourself because someone hits you. But now if you go back and come back and now you want to hit, that's technically, they can consider that premeditated because now y'all were good and you left and you come back.
Kiara (09:53)
Yes.
Tanesha (10:12)
That's what makes it worse, that you went back after all the other footage of y'all him apologizing and letting someone else get in your ear until you go handle that. And yes, I think it's a promotion that went bad, but I also, y'all did not set somebody up for success either. Y'all did it on purpose. That's my take.
Kiara (10:33)
You think they did it on purpose.
Tanesha (10:35)
Yeah, why not? Like I said, I'm not making this a race thing, but if you saw the video, how I saw the video.
Kiara (10:40)
Okay.
Okay.
Okay, well...
Tanesha (10:46)
You don't have nothing to say. just, I'm sorry.
Kiara (10:50)
No, the thing is you said a lot of things and I don't disagree with a lot of them, but I also, you know how I am about laws and stuff. So I do think it would have been assault even if he hit him back, you know, because that's just a weird part of the law in this world. Like it's kind of like both of them back and forth. But at the same time, you're right, was definitely looked premeditated if you decided to sit back down and just, you know, the rest of the video footage is not great. ⁓
Tanesha (10:56)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Kiara (11:19)
does not look good from that point on in which like I didn't even hear the apology so that's the thing I didn't see the apology on either side I didn't I didn't see it but there is also a limit to retaliation too right like that's where you can get in trouble because
Tanesha (11:26)
Mm.
Kiara (11:38)
your retaliation can go from a, you know, mild situation to what we saw, where it was, it was a little overkill for the situation. Like my guy was not conscious. He was not able to protect himself. And clearly I think he probably blacked out from just the, maybe the adrenaline, the moment, the anger. His father had some things to say about a potential concussion that he had gotten while training and that his son should not have been involved in any physical activity, which is also why I'm not sure why
Tanesha (11:43)
Mm-hmm.
Right, no no no, ⁓
Mm-hmm.
Kiara (12:08)
hearing about him potentially doing another independent show, I'm like, sir, are you just trying to tell the police where to find you? Because, I mean, I... If I were you, that's not what I would be doing. ⁓ So, I'm sad to see that it happened. ⁓ Anything time... Anytime something like this happens in wrestling, it kind of is frustrating to me because it's... I love wrestling, right? I love the drama, the pageantry and the stories.
But no, you never really want anyone to get hurt, not really. And so that was definitely something scary. And even though, yes, a lot of people got eyes from lot of people, it also costs something in terms of your affiliation with WWE. You know what mean? So terrible situation. All right, let's talk about something else.
Tanesha (12:56)
As
they say, just like how they say, not all money is good money, not all promotion is good promotion. unfortunately, you had to learn the hard way. And I also don't want to seem like I'm being insensitive because he could have lost his life.
Kiara (13:04)
Amen.
Tanesha (13:14)
So I definitely think what he did was overkill. He did not need to punch him so many times as he, you you punch him a couple of times, that's it. But at the same time, if you understand a MMA fighter, that's what they're supposed to be doing. They fight to the, pretty much to death. You're not dying, but you know, like, so, you know, so in his brain, yeah, he probably did blackout.
Kiara (13:32)
Right, they pretty much fight, you're right like that. I mean, I don't know to death, but I
know that they fight until you're unconscious. Yeah, I don't, it's just sad. Yes.
Tanesha (13:40)
Right, but I'm saying that they'll keep fighting and if the ref is not there to pull you back, they will continue
hitting because that's how they are trained to fight. Right? So, I just want to put that there. I didn't want to seem like I'm being insensitive because no, I'm very thankful that you did not die. I'm very thankful that you are able to talk and you are having your functions. It's going take you a minute to get back to normal, but...
Kiara (13:53)
Agreed.
Tanesha (14:08)
Also too, sometimes don't play with people that you know you can't play with.
Kiara (14:13)
Okay, like I said, let's talk about something else. Alright, so there is a rumor about Chris Jericho right now and him potentially returning to WWE. Yes, so the rumor was, I just find this one really fascinating for so many reasons, but Chris Jericho, think his contract is coming up and yes, he was an AEW. See if you spent more time.
Tanesha (14:22)
I didn't hear it.
He's still wrestling?
Okay.
Kiara (14:43)
watching that you wouldn't you would know that. ⁓ he did. His last run was a little
Tanesha (14:45)
Well, if they would stop doing things that they're not supposed to, then I would watch.
Kiara (14:52)
Anyway, his last run was a little special, but I mean, yeah, he still wrestled some time. The point is, it was interesting to see this kind of floated around because not too long ago, Chris Jericho was all AEW all the time and FWWE and WWE sucks and this and that and this. And so I guess my question is, would you want to see him back in WWE? Do you think there's a place for him?
WWE.
Tanesha (15:22)
The only reason why I see him coming back is to fight John Cena. Like I don't know what he gonna do.
just come back to do matches randomly, like Randy and all of them. I don't see him in a storyline that's going to be productive. I don't know, like right now, if we think about it, like the only thing I could see, like if Kevin Owens come back, I could see him doing the list again with Kevin Owens. Like that was funny. I know, but I'm saying, but.
Kiara (15:56)
feel like we did that already.
Tanesha (16:00)
That would be the only capacity, like I don't know. I don't know what he would be doing. WWE already have enough talent that they don't use correctly. So I feel like if they brought him back, what they gonna do? They gonna put somebody else to the back of the line?
Kiara (16:20)
Excellent question. Excellent question.
Tanesha (16:23)
At this
point, he could just be on TNA. Let's just go with TNA. Why you go with Like, let's go with TNA. Maybe they can find something good for you. Because, I mean, you know, they be doing good storytelling. I'm just saying. And then if you still want to get into WWE, you just transfer over to NXT and be like, I'm here. And then, you know, meet some people up and then go back to it. Like.
Kiara (16:35)
They do, and I agree with you. Yeah, I...
you
mean,
yes and no. So here's the tricky part for me, because there's a lot of TNA wrestlers who I think would do great on the main roster. I think like a Mike Santana, I think a Joe Hendry. I think they would do great on... So I don't know why they would bring back a Chris Jericho. I also think like, respectfully, no. No thank you.
Tanesha (16:56)
yeah.
Kiara (17:11)
Like, respectfully, I just, I did love Chris Jericho for a long time. yeah, but right now I just don't see WWE SKUs younger and younger. So I don't in terms of their talent and how they tell stories, they're building their own pipelines for talent. Like you said, we have all these people who aren't getting storylines right now. ⁓ I...
I wonder if he can do a thing like Shawn Michaels and Jericho did back in the day when they were kind of doing a few, like older, newer guy or whatever, but he also talked a lot of junk about them, so I...
Tanesha (17:50)
But so does CM Punk.
Kiara (17:52)
He did, he did too. But, but yes he did. CM Punk, you know, he was on a next level there. Did he? Yeah, Touche. He had a whole next level situation there. But to be...
Tanesha (17:54)
I was gonna say like, so did CM Punk. So, I mean, you know, I...
But it makes sense for Sam Punk to
come back. I don't know if it makes sense for Jericho to come back.
Kiara (18:09)
after a failed
run in AEW. See what saying? ⁓
Tanesha (18:12)
But I'm just saying I don't see like yes, Chris Jericho is
I just, I don't think, unless he's coming to work.
Kiara (18:21)
You haven't seen his matches
in AEW, so I don't.
Tanesha (18:24)
No, I don't. But you definitely said there was a special run. I don't know what that was, but... Okay. But, I mean, ultimately, the only thing I think I would be excited about is if it's him and Kevin Owens coming as a package deal and I could just see them being funny together. Yes.
Kiara (18:30)
I'ma send you some clips.
I think him talking is good. I think his
promo skills have always been great and... yes.
Tanesha (18:46)
Mm-hmm.
Kiara (18:52)
Anyhow, we got some we got some good news for Cody.
Tanesha (18:59)
yes, he had a baby! Yay!
Kiara (19:02)
He and
Brandy welcomed their daughter, Leilani Ella. So that's beautiful. That was a good way to kickstart the weekend finding out about that.
Tanesha (19:10)
Well that also explains
too why he not there either, not just him recording, like he's not there cause he's on parental leave.
Kiara (19:18)
Maybe, but he's also been filming Street Fighter in Australia. ⁓
Tanesha (19:21)
Well, you know.
Well, clearly he made sure he was there when the baby was born.
Kiara (19:26)
You know what saying? Kudos. I hope so. I hope he made his way back for the baby to be there.
Tanesha (19:30)
Well, there was both. thought,
wasn't it all three of their hands on here? Wasn't the baby's hand and Brandy's and his? I thought that's it. I'm gonna pull out the footage. I'm gonna pull out the footage. I posted it. You talk, I'ma look.
Kiara (19:33)
Girl, I don't remember. Girl, I did not look that deeply at this picture. I just saw the pic. You do that. Okay.
Anyway, well, either way, I just think it was delightful to see another baby in that family and exciting. And I want to tell everybody to stop speculating because it really doesn't matter how they got their child. It's just beautiful that they have a child, another one, to join Libby because who doesn't want to be a big sister? Yes, the internet is going crazy. You know, everyone's trying to figure out when Brandy was pregnant. Apparently, they said she wasn't.
Tanesha (20:01)
Really, people are speculating about that?
ain't gonna lie.
I ain't gonna lie. But immediately when I saw her, I went to go look at her page. I'm like, where's you pregnant? But then immediately once I saw her, like, oh no, she wasn't. I was like, she used a surrogate. I said, okay, that's cool. But I'm also a woman. I get it.
Kiara (20:14)
I don't really care.
Well, I knew she
had some ⁓ issues with, you know, some health issues, as many women do, right? So I, and I remember her saying like, even Liberty was kind of a surprise, because like, they didn't really expect that to happen either. But you know, surprise is how, know, surprises happen. And we like miracles, you know what I mean? So I'm just happy that they get another kid and that Liberty gets to be a big sister, because I'm telling you.
Tanesha (20:31)
and
Kiara (20:52)
Having more than one child is always great if you can. So I know a lot of only children and I just, I just welcome people having more than one. Grow up with a cousin or something. You need a counterpart. And who else? If I was alone or you were alone, we wouldn't have had each other. You know what I mean?
Tanesha (21:11)
mean, there was times I was alone. I was alone sometimes, I wasn't. But either way, you're right. Having a sibling does help bring character. It helps build ⁓ your self-esteem. It helps you troubleshoot. It helps a lot of things. And you have a partner in crime for the rest of your ⁓ life.
Kiara (21:18)
Okay.
It helps you build camaraderie.
And you can drive your parents insane, which is half the fun. I say as I have two kids who like tag team my nerves on any given day. Yeah, so. ⁓
Tanesha (21:47)
I'm about say as I have four and they
be pressing my buttons. ⁓
Kiara (21:54)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Anyway,
all we know, I think we can wrap up The Streets Are Talking, because ⁓ it's all the streets I want to talk about this week. I think we can get into last week's wrestling events, and we can just give some recaps because girl, Heatwave, Forbidden Door, both amazing. But let's kick it off with some Heatwave.
Tanesha (22:19)
Let's do it. Can I say one thing? I have to, can I say one thing? I just wanna say, Miss Parker, I don't know why I keep overlooking you, homie, but you are truly amazing. Hey, Lani, you are amazing. Girl, you did a split and a thing. I was like, ⁓ okay, end that with your end. Lola.
Kiara (22:27)
What? Okay.
Tanesha (22:46)
I ain't gonna lie, you deserved it too, because you've been kicking ass and you've been doing your thing and you've been over there in AAA and you know what, I am with you. That match was dope. And I think y'all should have started it for sure. It was amazing. Okay.
onto what she was going to say. just had to that out. I just had to.
Kiara (23:08)
Okay, well thank you. I guess that tells us where we're starting,
which is the NXT Women's. Okay, I guess that tells us again, like I said, where we're gonna start. You could have got that out. Anyway, there's a point. So this is the other thing about having a sibling. They just be jumping ahead like they don't have the outline. Like girl, you got that out. The point is, I guess that gives us a reason to start with the women's number one contender match. Because well, Lola Vice won, which means our predictions were very wrong because we each picked.
Tanesha (23:13)
I'm I didn't see the...
Kiara (23:37)
no one picked Lola. ⁓
Tanesha (23:39)
Remember I said, said,
why slow the wind? Because we didn't sit here and pick.
Kiara (23:46)
That was unfortunate, but I will say that was a great match. I enjoyed it a lot. I enjoyed it. I am such a Jaida Parker fan. I am such a fan and I think she's so amazing and I don't know what it will take to convince them to give her that shot because to me she like, that's her, this is her moment. Like she couldn't get the North American championship because God knows what. Shout out to Sol She is doing her thing.
Tanesha (23:48)
I
Kiara (24:15)
But now she's in this NXT Women's title picture and like y'all keep pushing her away from, I don't get it. I don't understand it respectfully. I do like Lola. Do I think Lola is as good as Jaida or Kelani? I'm gonna say not yet. She's just not there yet. But I do think she's done a great job, like you said, with all the AAA stuff. And she did, she did a good job, especially in that match with Mr. Iguana. But I don't get it.
I don't get why Jaida is just still here. The fans are hot for her. We're ready. We're ready. So anytime you want to pull that Mr. Shawn Michaels, you do that because we're ready. We've been waiting. And she is destined and ready in time for her title shot. I feel like we for her actual title reign. I feel like we say that every week, But I mean it this week. Like, like I meant to all the other weeks, but even more this week because I'm ready.
Tanesha (25:10)
I'm still trying to figure
out why. Why, what is happening behind the scenes? Cause now after us watching ⁓ their little five documentary, I'm not gonna say little, their five documentary, Unreal, and seeing the behind the scenes of their thought process. I really want to know what's the thought process and why she's not in that. Why don't y'all think she's ready? Like what is she doing behind the scenes that is not proving she's ready? Cause on camera,
Kiara (25:21)
Unreal.
Thank
Tanesha (25:38)
in every promo, you guys keep pushing her out there, what's happening? Because you can't keep pushing us and feeding us and showing us how good she is and you know, and then she's still not actually getting the opportunity to actually have the belt.
Kiara (25:56)
No, and she's good. Like she just gets better and better and better. And so I don't... Here's the other thing. Unreal told us how they tell the stories for the main roster. I don't know if Shawn Michaels and his team follow that same type of process. You know what I mean? Like I'm wondering if that is the thinking behind it. Because I think there's also the trickier thing when like there have been a lot of main roster people coming down. For instance, Chelsea.
You know what mean? Come and hang out with Ethan Page, who I also think, by the way, is ready for- he could just any minute now. He is ready for the main roster. ⁓ But I am a little... I wonder if that's the same, because they tend to pluck people out of there and then you just don't- they just disappear. You know what I mean? Like, at this point, like Tony D'Angelo, how many matches has he had? Is he gonna stay there? Is he gonna move on? Like, what's that about? Trick?
He's mixing it up with TNA, which gives them another avenue, I feel at least, to like help continue to push talent and help develop them. But we are kind of in a spot where some of these people have been there for a long time. And it's like, I think we've thought the same thing about Roxanne for a while, right? Like we were like, girl, you done did everything there is to do. So what's next for you? And then eventually they brought her up to kind of be part of the Judgment Day, which is a perfect fit right now. So I know we just have to wait our turn, but for Jaida, I think it's time for her reign.
Tanesha (26:58)
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Kiara (27:24)
You know what mean? Like, okay Lola, but I don't know... I don't know if she's ready for the title.
Tanesha (27:34)
Mmm.
Kiara (27:35)
I just, don't know if she's ready for the title. And I think that will take us right to this conversation I want to have about Jacy Jayne
and that match, the TNA match that they had at the heatwave event, which was the world championship match with Ash by Elegance and Jacy Jayne and Masha Slamovich. And I have to tell you, I was a little heartbroken that Jacy Jayne didn't win. And I didn't know what this feeling is. This is new. It's a new feeling for me because there's somewhere along the way.
Tanesha (28:07)
Okay.
Kiara (28:12)
She has like earned my respect and my admiration for her technique because she held her own against Masha and against Ashby Elegance, who we also known as Dana Brooke. Like she's no joke. ⁓ Not at all. She's very, very talented. And Masha seeing her too, like I was like, this is, I don't even have the words for how great I thought that match was. It was so fun. There was all this like drama with fatal influence and. ⁓
Ash by Elegance brand. Is it Elegance brand?
Tanesha (28:41)
⁓ or the elegant brand,
the elegant brand. There we go. got it. ⁓
Kiara (28:47)
Yeah, so I was like, I was like, you probably know that name better than me. But I'm just saying, like, okay, I was gonna say I'm
pretty sure, like, that's what it is. But it was such a great match. Like, that one was amazing. But also, it did, I mean, I get that they eventually had to return it to a TNA wrestler. But now I kind of miss it because J.C.
I don't know, it's like she blossomed under the weight of those two championships. So I'm kind of sad she's down to only one now. And now I'm kind of not hoping Lola takes it off of her. For selfish reasons, still want it to be Jaida. But also I just, I'm not ready for her to lose it yet. And I don't think Lola is necessarily as good as Jacy is now. Like, I don't know how I feel. I don't know what happened. I don't know what happened here. I feel like I had a whole change of...
personality here about that. don't, I don't know.
Tanesha (29:40)
I mean, I'm not gonna say I'm sad that she lost the championship because I look at it a different way. Like I told you earlier, and I'm gonna share you guys on the conversation. ⁓ Of course, Ash, ⁓ but we know her as Dana Brooke as well. So watch her be in the WWE.
and prove that she's worthy of doing certain things and she's able and she's capable, then for her to be let go, then to watch her go into another brand and build herself and shows how good she really is, and then to watch her win that title, to me, it was like validation, I'm not even her. So for me, it felt like, here, y'all let me go.
I'm doing so good over here and I was able to come over here to your brand that I was on and take something back that technically y'all shouldn't have in the first place. And kept moving.
And that was such, it was so cool just to watch it. It was just so cool to see that. Now yes, I understand, you know, I kinda got used to her being two belts, Jaycee being two belts as well. And she has picked up her game a lot. She has been showing, you know, that she deserved those two. And it was like, okay, I'm with you. But am I sad? No. Now, will I be sad if she lose the title to Lola? Maybe?
I don't know. I think she's kind of going to have an identity crisis. No, but I think she's going to have an identity crisis in regards to if she lose it. But yes. And I think potentially fatal attraction may break up.
Kiara (31:18)
You don't know.
J.C.
Tanesha (31:36)
But what'd say? Attraction? My bad. Influence. Fatal influence. They should be called fatal attraction, but I get it. I think we had that already. But fatal influence. Oh. Well, they should be called fatal attraction. I don't understand. Anyway, whatever.
Kiara (31:36)
Influence, not attraction.
Yes. No. We had toxic attraction. Yeah. I think.
Okay, back to the sibling conversation. I don't. I don't. Okay, no, I agree with you. I do want to share what I said earlier too, in terms of that conversation about Ash by Elegance and her work and TNA and her getting the the Knockout Championship. Because I think I said the same thing, like Naomi went through the same thing when she was Trinadier, right? Like, so it's really interesting.
Tanesha (32:05)
I was gonna...
Kiara (32:32)
that a lot of the women who leave, and men too, I don't wanna just say it's women, because I definitely think Cedric is doing, and Ali, doing amazing work in TNA. ⁓ I don't know what it is about TNA that maybe allows them to flourish in a way that maybe being in WWE does not. Not really sure what it is, but I do think their storytelling is very different. It's a little bit more-
Tanesha (32:42)
Mm-hmm.
Kiara (33:00)
comprehensive in the sense that it feels like it's an umbrella story. There's all these pieces. It feels like I could follow it week to week without like having them repeat the same thing. This is what you miss. This is what you miss. Because you know, because you're watching it, because you can't help it, right? I think it, I also like this partnership because it allows me to see, again, another flavor of wrestling that I like. Because TNA, I like the way they tell stories. I like the way that the women really carry a lot of storylines.
Tanesha (33:11)
huh. I know.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Kiara (33:29)
I love the way there's so many components and interesting characters to fall in love with. So I don't know what it is. I kept wondering that too. Like why is it that women can sometimes leave WWE and flourish in TNA in a way that they can't? ⁓ But I would also say, I feel like the same thing can be said in a lot of ways for AEW. Cuz I didn't put this in the streets are talking, but Deanna. ⁓
Tanesha (33:51)
Mm-hmm.
Kiara (33:56)
Deonna Purrazzo is having this kind of issue right now at AEW, where she was, I guess, somewhere, she mentioned like, she's not being used to her full potential. And I was like, yes, because she's the virtuosa. Like the virtuosa. And she was a huge name in TNA. And I was so psyched to see her move.
Tanesha (34:09)
and
Kiara (34:15)
to AEW at the time, but they didn't really do nothing with her. ⁓ Not much at all. And that's what I mean. Like I feel like TNA does a great job of telling some of these stories in the ways that an AEW and a WWE don't. And I think that's what makes it such a fun alternative in a lot of ways and such a good one to include. But I don't get it. I don't know. Maybe they're, you know what I think they need to transfer? Some writing, some writers.
Can we like do a little writer trades too and see how we can tell some of these stories differently? I'm sure there's some things that TNA can learn from WWE and vice versa. I just feel like that would be a good opportunity for us to see both of them be better from a story perspective. All right, let's talk since we'll just keep going with more women matches, Blake Monroe and Jordan Grace.
Tanesha (35:09)
Okay.
I ain't gonna lie, I don't know why Blake won. I don't know.
Kiara (35:15)
Did this match, I was gonna
say, did this match make you like Blake anymore than you did previously? I think so.
Tanesha (35:22)
I mean, I guess she's a good wrestler,
but no. Not really. I really was hoping that this would be over and Jordan could just beat her and be done. I just... To me, it's like, she's a pretty face, so she gets to win. And it's like, why? You shouldn't have fun. You won the first time. Let her beat you this time. just... I mean, she beat her. I mean, was a good match, though. I ain't gonna lie. It was a good match. Do I like the outcome? No.
Bruce Gimac.
Kiara (35:57)
Yes, I agree. It was a really good match. I thought it was great and I was really shocked that Blake won. I'm not even gonna lie. I was a little shook. I was like, ooh, when did? I don't know. I remember like standing up during that match like, what?
Tanesha (36:07)
wait, didn't you go for Blake?
But I feel like you went for Blake too.
Kiara (36:14)
I said,
yeah, that doesn't mean I thought she was gonna actually win. I told you, we don't get nothing for winning.
Tanesha (36:17)
we don't
get nothing for it, we just take it.
Kiara (36:23)
No. I just was pretty much like, I thought she was just a snakey enough to win, like, and I'm pretty sure you also went with Blake. You can go ahead. This is my opportunity to plug our blog. Yes.
Tanesha (36:33)
I did, because I said she was going to cheat. I did. I think I said, I did. I think I said,
I said that because she was going to cheat.
Kiara (36:41)
That's right. And this is our opportunity to plug that blog.
Tanesha (36:42)
But I was hoping, but I was hoping,
MainEventMamasPodcast (36:44)
So, since I didn't get a chance to say it before, if you did not know what our picks were for NXT Heatwave or for Forbidden Door our blog is where you can always catch our predictions and where you will catch the ones we will do today. In case you don't wanna listen to the entire clip of us telling you who we think is gonna win or lose, we have a nice little summary for you so you can fact check us too. Because I don't quite remember everyone we picked during this segment last week.
But anyway, all right, let's talk NXT North American champion, Ethan Page and Chelsea Green versus Tabian Heights and Tyra Mae Steele in a mixed tag team match, which I thought was actually really fun to watch. I really love, I told you, like I know I remembered I picked Chelsea and Ethan for this and I was right, but they were funny. They were such a comedy team, the Canadians. I mean, I just...
I was in stitches, but I thought Tyra Maysteele and Tavion did great in the ring, which was a nice opportunity given that Tyra's coming from that.
Excuse me, I left G's show. So, I thought it was great. What did you think about the match?
MainEventMamasPodcast (38:05)
I I did, I thought it was great too. mean, Chelsea definitely brings a spunk to it. And I think...
MainEventMamasPodcast (38:15)
Yep, that's what you get for doing it first.
MainEventMamasPodcast (38:18)
First off, I didn't do it. You were the one who did it. You made the whole yawn. I didn't do it. ⁓ my goodness gracious.
MainEventMamasPodcast (38:21)
You started it first.
MainEventMamasPodcast (38:32)
Yeah, the match was good. I forgot where I was going with this. I got sidetracked. But the match was good. I I love Chelsea. mean, did I expect Chelsea then to win? No, you did. But I should have, because I knew she was gonna cheat. But you know what? I ain't gonna lie, because I think what's her name? Tyra.
MainEventMamasPodcast (38:36)
Well, I always loved Chelsea.
Tyra May Steel.
MainEventMamasPodcast (38:56)
Thank you. Tyra. She pulled, who was that girl from her service? The one with the red hair. She pulled her in the ring. I thought that was a cool move. thought that was, thank you. I thought that was a cool move. thought, know, you know, tippy-tap. you know, me, you too. No, baby. Come in. Ethan, yes. She was kicking Ethan's, she was kicking Ethan's ass. I ain't gonna lie. That was kind of funny. And the ref was like, can you stop? He's like, nah. I'm like, you know.
MainEventMamasPodcast (39:05)
Alba fire.
She also superplexed Ethan and yeah, that's what it was, Ethan and...
That was so funny.
MainEventMamasPodcast (39:27)
But it was overall, it was a good match.
MainEventMamasPodcast (39:29)
And my
favorite thing is that she gave like a gold medal to a kid in the audience, which I thought was cute. I was like that was a cute way to start.
MainEventMamasPodcast (39:36)
Yeah, yeah, she was definitely,
she definitely was giving out her gold medals. I thought that was cool.
MainEventMamasPodcast (39:44)
I was also right about this one, the NXT Tag Team Championship match with Dark State. Which I believe in the blog, they're called like the Delicious Darkness. That was not, don't know how that got. Yeah, that's an opportunity for you to read that blog. Anyway, the team of Dionne Lennox and Osiris Griffin.
MainEventMamasPodcast (39:49)
So was I. So was I.
You know
why? Because you said that. You said they were so delicious. But I blame you.
MainEventMamasPodcast (40:08)
I say they were delicious darkness. I didn't know that.
I didn't take that there. But I thought it was funny. Anyway, the point is they defeated Hank and Tank, which I was excited about, frankly. But it was also interesting to see that they hadn't decided who was going to be in the match until the match just about started. And Dion, I liked... I just have to give a shout out to Vic Joseph because...
MainEventMamasPodcast (40:27)
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
MainEventMamasPodcast (40:37)
He makes these matches, he had all this extra information about the dark state and how Dion was kind of the, or maybe it was Booker T, I can't really remember which one said it, but they're such a great team either way. just how they described Dion as kind of the goodie goodie, I think Booker T said it when he switched up his persona. But cuz he was, initially if you saw him before in NXT, was kind of like, he was in the back with Carmen.
MainEventMamasPodcast (40:58)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
MainEventMamasPodcast (41:07)
Carmen during that whole Adonis situation. They were sitting together and then, you know, stuff was happening. But not stuff between them, but just like stuff in the background with Carmen and Ashanti the Adonis. But it's nice to see him get the shine in this group. He was intense. That was an intense situation. I was like, ooh, well. Also very enjoyable because I wasn't necessarily the biggest Hank and Tank fan. I'm just going to be honest.
MainEventMamasPodcast (41:21)
Mm-hmm.
Okay. Okay.
MainEventMamasPodcast (41:35)
I wasn't feeling them like that,
so sorry. But not sorry. What else do we want to talk about? The last match, obviously. Oh my goodness. Javon and Oba Femi, which I felt my heart leave my chest quite a few times in that match. Throwing that man out. Listen, I know we talked about this, me and my mom nerves, but like, oof. Oof.
MainEventMamasPodcast (41:40)
Okay.
you
MainEventMamasPodcast (42:04)
I was like, I hope his limbs are like rubber because this was crazy. Like they threw him on the table, just threw him, just like he was a ball going into the field. I just, what the hell was that? It was intense and it was brutal, but it was a really amazing match. And I thought it was a nice tease to have Ricky Saints, that's his name here.
to talk to Javon before the match and kind of be like, hey, I got next. ⁓ And he has just enough swag to kind of make it be a little uncomfortable, I thought. I just thought that was phenomenal. I thought all the way around, it was just a phenomenal match. And the way it ended was even better. Like, I was like, that's crazy. He just stepped over Javon's body and just proceeded to keep going. I was like, wow.
MainEventMamasPodcast (42:32)
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
MainEventMamasPodcast (43:02)
Ha.
MainEventMamasPodcast (43:04)
I mean, Jaron is an amazing athlete. I think they're just making it a thing now to make him fly. I don't think, you know. ⁓ But OverFemi is really a powerhouse. mean, both of them are powerhouses, but it was, I had no complaints about the match. I wasn't hitting, like, ugh! You know, my mom nerves wasn't hitting on that one, but it was still a good.
MainEventMamasPodcast (43:11)
You
I was like, I hope
his family ain't watching this like this cuz, Jesus, I would been like, Lord, you're have to, I would need a heads up. I would need you to give me a heads up to say, I'm about to get thrown in this match. So you're have to hold it down, not lose your crap cuz I wanted to lose it a little bit. It was so good though. Overall, I thought NXT Heatwave, it was great and I feel like it keeps continuing to deliver.
Whether they mix TNA talent or not, I just think the roster and NXT is just powerful and amazing and it's exciting. And I always look forward to their PLEs because I know it's gonna be a good time start to finish and I felt like it was and it lived up to it. And that was a great way to enjoy the weekend considering that was the way I ended my Sunday, but not the way I started it because.
I started my Sunday with Forbidden Door.
MainEventMamasPodcast (44:30)
You did. You did watch Forbidden Door. And you're gonna tell us all about it, cause I sure did it. So, I'm all about it.
MainEventMamasPodcast (44:33)
I You did not. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah,
my headline for this was, this a wrestling event or a crime scene? Because it felt like it. Like, it felt very much like a crime scene multiple times throughout. However, I enjoyed it from start to finish. Like, that was another one. I hadn't watched AEW like that in a minute. Like, I think...
MainEventMamasPodcast (44:47)
Mmm.
MainEventMamasPodcast (44:59)
The Dynamite was the week before was the time I first watched it start to finish in a long time. But, and I definitely didn't watch Collision, I had other things to do. Like sleep and try to get better. ⁓ But I always, that was another thing. One of the reasons I started watching AEW is cause I kinda enjoyed the TV tapings during that time. But their pay-per-views, phenomenal. Every time. Like you would leave there being like, my god.
my god. And it was long as hell, so you felt like you got your money's worth. Maybe a little too long sometimes, because I damn sure got sleepy. I ain't gonna lie. Even though this was at one o'clock. Look, I was like, dude, I was there for zero hour, and then I felt like I had to sit through, even though I will admittedly say I forgot it started. I forgot about zero hour, so honestly I...
I missed like about half of it and then I caught the other half and then I was geared in. I was excited. I even had my daughter in there watching it with me. We were going in. We were going in. She did not gain an appreciation of AEW though. I will say she had a lot of smack talk to talk about it. Especially during the zero hour because there was definitely at least one of the matches I was like what is happening here? I don't... Wasn't great. Not gonna tell you which one. You can tell me which one you think I think wasn't great. I ain't gonna tell you. Alright.
MainEventMamasPodcast (46:08)
Mmm.
MainEventMamasPodcast (46:21)
but less talk
So many things. I think I'm gonna start with...
the Ops, which was Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Shibata in a trios championship. That was during the Zero Hour, I think, against the Bullet Club War Dogs. That was, so that explained what I couldn't figure out what was going on the week before when I was telling you. I was like, I don't know who these people are who were in this brawl with John Moxley's crew. It was them. It was, it was them. And I was like, ⁓ it was a good ass match though.
MainEventMamasPodcast (46:42)
Mm-hmm.
MainEventMamasPodcast (46:53)
Samoa Joe is a good time anytime you watch him anywhere you want to watch him. So he did his typical no-sell situation where he just picks someone up and drops them on it was great. It was great. It was absolutely worth the money. Adam Copeland aka Edge and Christian delivered. We were wrong that Christian was not turning on Edge and by we I probably meant you who said that. But Christian did not turn.
MainEventMamasPodcast (47:06)
Mm.
okay. Okay. I did. I did say he was gonna turn.
MainEventMamasPodcast (47:22)
on edge and they in fact defeated Killswitch and Kip Sabian. But I will tell you, Kip Sabian was bloody as hell. I still don't know quite what happened. Like, I was watching it and I was like, what is going on here? But he gets up somehow and like, the corner of his eye is just spewding blood. And I was like, what happened to my guy? I'm not really sure. I'm not really sure.
MainEventMamasPodcast (47:46)
sputing
blood? What?
MainEventMamasPodcast (47:47)
It was crazy. I was like,
my God. Then him and Killswitch couldn't get along for none of the money in the world, which is really how Adam Copeland and Christian won because Killswitch put Kip on his shoulders and then Adam Copeland, you know, did one of the moves and kind of took him back. I was like, I don't know whose side we on here. It was very... It ⁓ was entertaining by far, but it was...
It was a mess, but it was fun. What else to see? I do want to talk about Toni Storm and Athena. Sweet Jesus, that match was amazing. Even with Toni Stone's outfit, where she is like, Victorian.
MainEventMamasPodcast (48:20)
Mm.
I
know, I did see it, she was painted white. I was kind of confused. I didn't even know what was happening.
MainEventMamasPodcast (48:38)
I literally
was like, she's white and my daughter's like, but she's white. I was like, no, no, no, I meant her paint. And my daughter's like, but she's, I was like, nevermind. I don't, was like, forget it. Just don't worry about it. It was great. It was, it was Tony being Tony. So I thought Athena though, amazing showing from Athena. There was somebody else who was there too. I don't really remember, sorry.
MainEventMamasPodcast (48:50)
That's my thing. I'm like, you're white. So you painted yourself white and you're white.
MainEventMamasPodcast (49:06)
but there was somebody who was at Athena's kind of side, but that match was also very, very good. Jack Sabre and Nigel McGinnis. So remember how we didn't know nothing about that match and we just picked names and we both picked Nigel? Well, he didn't win. And I felt some kind of way because had I done a little research before that match, I would have known better than to pick him because he ain't won no matches since he pinned back apparently. So I was like.
MainEventMamasPodcast (49:18)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Okay.
MainEventMamasPodcast (49:33)
He had retired and out of retirement he's come but he hasn't done any matches.
MainEventMamasPodcast (49:36)
Okay, okay. So maybe you
should go back into retirement then.
MainEventMamasPodcast (49:42)
No, he was great though. He was really good. I mean, they were, it was a really good match and that was.
I was impressed by that one too, because I was just not expecting, again, I didn't know what to expect because I'm like, don't really remember these people or know who they are, but that was another phenomenal match. Another one that kind of like captured my attention start to finish. That was fantastic.
Kyle Fletcher, let's talk about the TNT Championship, which I called something else when I was doing the predictions. That one, Fletcher and Takahashi, girls.
I'm going show you some clips because...
It was also, I mean, like I said, I really didn't have too many complaints. Also really, really incredible physical, technical.
They're incredible athletes. Like I just was like, my God, this is so good. Now the thing I want to spend a lot of time on is this TBS championship with Mercedes, Monet or Money, depends on who you talk to and when you talk to them. And then Alex Windsor, Bozilla and Persephone. What I tell you, that was probably my favorite match of the night. I'm not lying
So Bozilla and Persephone come from different organizations. I think Bozilla comes from Stardom. Persephone comes from...
CML, I believe. Also, where Mercedes has that CMLL is two L's, belt. But, Bozilla, she came out looking like a Mortal Kombat character. Like, I sat there, me and my daughter were like, is she blowing smoke? Like, I had to rewind because, I was like, this is the coolest outfit. It reminds me of of Giuilia's entrance in WWE, where you come out with the smoke and, except she didn't have all the smoke, but she had only been wrestling for like two months or something, and she is-
really really good. She's like six feet tall. Poor Mercedes was just a little thing as she was towering over her. I was like, yep, felt like Mortal Kombat. And then I kind of fell in love with Persephone. She was very also very physical. The match was I mean, I don't know what to say. It was a banger. Mercedes looked great. Alex Windsor, I think I told you last week, I was kind of like that's someone I should keep my eye on.
MainEventMamasPodcast (51:36)
Hmm.
MainEventMamasPodcast (52:02)
Continue to think so that's someone I should keep my eye on it was just so good I don't think we get to see matches like that often ⁓ Where the women just Put on a show and I felt like Mercedes really really did like she shined she looked great She got she ran away with her titles. She came down
MainEventMamasPodcast (52:24)
I did see a
clip of her running and then she's like, they're chasing me and I was like, who's chasing you? There's no one behind you. And then she goes, no, where's the rest of my titles? Where's my, I was like, girl.
MainEventMamasPodcast (52:29)
Bye. ⁓
So she came down to
the ring with a whole bunch of like British like people and they were carrying her titles. It was funny. I was like, that's kind of cool. I ain't gonna lie. Nine belts. I get it. Do I think she needs 10? I mean, maybe, maybe not, but she did on Dynamite mention how she wants to continue to find new people to take their belts. And I was like, girl.
MainEventMamasPodcast (52:39)
people.
We do know who she's not gonna go to and try to take nobody's belts, because she don't even like this. Sitting here referencing and asking her when she coming back. So we know she ain't going there. She ain't going to NXT, she ain't going WE, she ain't going, I mean, now what would be, she probably not going to TNA, but you know what, but it would be funny with TNA. That'd be the closest she'll get. ⁓
MainEventMamasPodcast (53:07)
Yeah.
Nope. But also, she probably ain't going to TSA.
It would be, but they had, well,
keep in mind that TNA and AEW had this partnership that was not really fruitful for TNA. So it didn't really, it's not the way that the one that WWE and TNA are working now. I know there's some rumors that like they're trying to like buy them or whatever. And I was like, I don't want them to buy them. I want them to continue to have them as separate kind of entities that sometimes intertwine and sometimes don't because I-
MainEventMamasPodcast (53:48)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
MainEventMamasPodcast (53:51)
Again, I love the way they tell their stories and it's distinctly TNA. It's not WWE and I don't want it to be. So I don't think so, sad that she can't, yeah.
MainEventMamasPodcast (54:00)
And I appreciate,
yeah, but also I'm sorry to cut you off, but I also appreciate how TNA, what's his name? The guy, the general manager, whoever, who is he? The owner? TNA, the owner? Yeah.
MainEventMamasPodcast (54:13)
Which one? The owner?
I don't know his name.
MainEventMamasPodcast (54:21)
Well, I'm sorry, no disrespect, but I appreciate how he'd be at every match, and he'd be in the front, and he'd be proud of the show that's being put on, instead of being in the back. So, I can't remember his name either, and I feel so bad about that. You said you don't?
MainEventMamasPodcast (54:29)
Yeah. Sorry, I can't remember his name because I...
I don't because honestly...
I don't
because because the other guy was Scott Scott Adore I remember his name for such a long time it was associated with TNA so it's hard for me to figure out where the TNAs of it all are gonna come from so yeah my bad I'm sure we'll figure out his name and apologize next week my apologies my apologies all right but
Okada beats Swerve.
So we were right about that. That match was awesome.
MainEventMamasPodcast (55:06)
Good.
MainEventMamasPodcast (55:09)
really, really good. Like, I think I might be an Okata fan now. I don't think my eyes even left the screen. I was just like, this is so good. It was good. It was like, it was like a feast for your eyes. That's the one thing I will say about this entire pay-per-view is it felt like it was so engaging, so entertaining. There were a couple of spots where I was like, what the hell? But,
MainEventMamasPodcast (55:16)
Mmm, okay.
MainEventMamasPodcast (55:32)
For the most part, it was really great. There was this one spot where Queen Amada comes running out because she's being attacked by...
somebody from the back, And then Jamie Hader comes back and she was a big deal for a long time when I was watching AEW realistically. And now she has this kind of like Scooby-Doo hairdo like from the 70s. I was like, what is going on? I don't understand it. I liked her previous look, but she did kind of favor Becky. So at least in the look, not necessarily the physical.
MainEventMamasPodcast (56:06)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
MainEventMamasPodcast (56:06)
makeup, but the look was
very Becky so I was like maybe that's why it needed to be shifted but She was also she just she was coming back from an injury so was like hmm. I don't know where that's gonna go um Adam Page and MJF
As predicted, Adam Page Won
MainEventMamasPodcast (56:26)
What happened? Are you thinking? ⁓ I'm sitting going like I'm going I'm like I can't answer none of these questions. I didn't see anything
MainEventMamasPodcast (56:30)
am because I'm like how do I describe this experience? No, no, no. It's not even, I know that you didn't watch it so you
can't, but I'm like this experience was... what was this experience exactly? It was, it was a great match. MJF is an asshole and I loved it. he, he tried to get
Adam Page to hit him with his own ring, like it was, or a chair, or it was crazy. But either way, it made perfect sense considering what I said. Like anytime he was going to keep his title shot, there was no way in hell he was gonna win. There was no way. But I'm pretty sure that one got bloody too. That one got bloody. But the tag team match with the Hurt Syndicate and FTR and Brodito, which is Brody King and Bandito.
That was also one of my favorites because Bandito is this huge high flyer and Brody King's is much more of a like brawler type. Then you put him out there with Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, which was like, as always, as to be expected, a phenomenal team. And then FTR and their craziness with ⁓ Stokely on the outside. But you know who showed up?
ricochet and the people he were teaming with during the zero hour.
and they cost the Hurt Syndicate their titles. So I don't think that bodes well for Ricochet. just gonna be honest. I don't think that bodes well for my guy. Might not be working out for him in the future. Looking forward to seeing how that goes badly.
MainEventMamasPodcast (58:20)
Mm.
MainEventMamasPodcast (58:24)
Alright, so let's talk this main event, this Lights Out Steel Cage match, that was as insane, as over the top as you could possibly imagine, and even then some.
It was...
It was set the tone earlier in the night, the... ⁓
The Young Bucks, they like threatened one of the techs in the back and they told him to fill a bag with all the most sharp and dangerous instruments of all of London and then to put it underneath the ring so they would be able to find it and be able to use it in the match. And then they come down to the ring because you know we better have our, I told you they don't have their music or nothing. So you better have our music and our pyro. They come down to Mbop by Hanson.
which was their first ever ring music when they first started wrestling back in the day. So that was like, that was an experience. It was so funny watching the other wrestlers, especially Ospreay, laugh their ass off in the ring because what the hell is happening here? And then they start singing. It was not obviously the Young Bucks, the people in the ring. So that was fun. ⁓
MainEventMamasPodcast (59:48)
I'm literally singing mmm bop
MainEventMamasPodcast (59:49)
I mean it was...
I ain't gonna lie, I thought it was so fun.
I was singing along to... But Will Osprey's team won. Yeah, Will Osprey's team won. But it was, like I said, as Violent and Cary. Like, I'm pretty sure... I forgot to mention there was some Staples and Swerves match, I think. ⁓ Now I remember. John Moxley had ⁓ Darby Allen.
MainEventMamasPodcast (59:56)
Bye bye, ooh, yeah.
Was it an
ice pick? I did see something with an ice pick.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:00:20)
It wasn't an ice pick, it was definitely
a fork and used it to take his earring out.
And then he put his head, I mean, his head was carefully, gently pushed onto some barbed wire.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:00:29)
that's so something.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:00:37)
It was crazy. It was bloody. It was crazy. It was, like I said, everything you could imagine. And then when they won, it was such like a triumph of... I mean, they threw somebody else off the cage too and broke the table.
Yuta, he fell. I forgot to mention, Bryan Danielson was ringside for most of these matches, but excused himself for the Lights Out Steel Cage match, because he felt he needed to be professional and didn't feel like he could do so during that match. I mean, was just all a night. It was a great night. It was a great night, even though Ospreay was brutally attacked at the end and left the arena in a neck brace. But one of my favorite parts in the match. Yeah.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:01:18)
Yeah, so I did see that part
and I was like, is this a work or did you really hurt yourself? Because I was trying to figure out what happened.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:01:23)
Okay, so a little bit of both. So
he had already scheduled to have neck surgery after this match because he has a legitimate neck injury. But I think this is how they were writing him off. But also, like, it was brutal. Like, I... It was brutal. So. And he went all out, too. He didn't hold back at all. Which I was like, ooh, God, this is... I was like, ain't he going out for a neck injury? Sweet Jesus.
But anyway, one of my favorite parts in the match were when the young bucks go to retrieve the bag that they asked the tech to put in there and it was gummy bears instead of anything dangerous.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:02:01)
Mm-hmm.
I saw something about some gummy bears and somebody being upset that they use gummy bears and I was like, I don't know, but I don't want to know. Like I want to know, but I don't want to know. Why, why? I mean, I'd rather be thrown, I'd rather be thrown on some gummy bears. I mean, better than some damn tacks
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:02:14)
It was funny. It was so funny. It was really hilarious.
They did wrestle, I'm pretty sure.
And then they stuffed it in, I think it was, I forget which one's mouth. And then they did a move and he had to spit it out. And then Osprey ate some. Like it was very, like I said, there was a lot going on. But that was the nice part of the evening. Like there was a, you know, that we got into the barbed wire and the, the forks of it all. And then John Moxley licked the fork before he put it in Darby's ear. Like it was a, I mean, yeah, in his ear. And it was just like,
Because I forgot Okada and Swerve, had a lot of biting and shit too. Like it was... I get it why they say AEW's for the sickos. It was wild, but it was a fun, it was worth every bit of that $49.99 to watch a crime scene unfold on my TV. was just, you know. It's almost like Clue, who did what with the what in the area. It was enjoyable. Alright, speed round.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:03:20)
Yay!
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:03:21)
That's crazy. Crazy work that you're saying yay to this. But we do know Clash in Paris is this weekend on Sunday and that I've only got one, two, three, four, five matches that I can count for. So we just have to decide who we think is going to take the win.
So let's start with Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella for the Women's Center Continental Championship. Who you got?
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:03:51)
I wanna say Nikki, but I know Becky's gonna win. But since we don't win, I'm gonna say Nikki.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:03:57)
I'm gonna say Becky because I love the way Becky says my hot husband. I just cannot. I love the fact that she loves that man. I just love the way she loves that man. Epically. And then, alright, so we got Seamus and Rusev in a good old fashioned Donnybrook match. You know.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:04:04)
My hot husband?
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:04:19)
Meaning, okay, Rusev, okay. I was just going to tell you what a Donnybrook match was, but it's cool, it's cool. I'ma pick Seamus. Then we're going to talk Roman Reigns versus Bronson Reed. Who you got?
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:04:19)
We're safe.
Ha
Now do we need to really ask me?
I say Roman, but then I somehow feel like he gonna get beat up and he gonna get his sneakers taken again.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:04:46)
I'm gonna need him to double tie his shoes. I don't know. Maybe they need to be too tight so they don't come off.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:04:47)
Roman wins, but you know, history is being taken.
No, the last time I think he untied his shoe and took it off.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:05:02)
But if they're too small, you know what saying, they might not be able to get them off. I don't know. I don't know. I'm just saying. I don't want nobody taking his shoes no more. It's just weird. It's weird. And so for that reason...
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:05:09)
What?
It is weird
because it's also like he only had the one ⁓ of
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:05:20)
Ouch!
Fa la la.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:05:25)
You're the best!
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:05:27)
Okay, go Roman on that one too.
Go and rub it on that one too. All right, we're going to talk.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:05:36)
Not ramen, yeah, ramen.
Yep, we gonna go with ramen. Ramen.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:05:40)
Okay, we're gonna talk the fatal four way match for the World Heavyweight Championship with Seth Rollins and CM Punk and Jey Uso and LA Knight. Who you got?
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:05:50)
wanna say Jay so bad. Jay, I believe in you. I believe in you. But I know they're not taking that title off Seth anytime soon. So, Seth.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:06:00)
I is there any,
I mean, that's who I was picking. You know, that's my favorite wrestler. So I will always pick Seth for this one. Also, because CM Punk, Jay, and LA Knight can't even get along. So, nah, there's no way they're taking this out of Seth. And he got the bronze, bronze. Like I just, yeah, that's it. That's it. All right, John Cena versus Logan Paul. Is that real?
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:06:25)
What? Yeah, that's real. Yeah, that happened. Yeah, that happened. Yes, that happened. That happened. Yes, that happened.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:06:27)
Are you for real? I don't know how, are you sure? Are you for real?
You gotta be kidding me, for real. Where have I been? How did I miss that this was gonna be a match? I'm so confused.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:06:38)
No, it's for real. It's for real. Because they had a great
promo. They had a great promo. That promo was crazy on Smackdown.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:06:48)
I don't, I was sick, so I'm just gonna chalk it up to the fact that I don't.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:06:50)
Was it SmackDown? Or was it Raw? I don't know, it was a great promo.
Because John really got into Logan and Logan was like,
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:07:00)
Okay, I'm have to watch last week at SmackDown again. I don't.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:07:02)
So I'm gonna
say John. I'm say John.
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:07:05)
Yeah, I'm
gonna pick John too because I was never gonna pick Logan Paul. So with that... ⁓
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:07:13)
hahahaha
MainEventMamasPodcast (1:07:14)
This week's episode, if you haven't guessed, was really strictly just to cover last week's events and to give you a preview of Paris.
