Monday Night RAW Recap: THE CHIEF, THE CHOSEN & THE CHOKE-OUT

Monday Night RAW Recap: THE CHIEF, THE CHOSEN & THE CHOKE-OUT

If there is one thing the Main Event Mamas appreciate, it’s a man who can lead a meeting. Roman Reigns opened the show in a full "Mafia Boss" setting, asking the Usos for advice. Jey opted for violence (typical), Jimmy wanted a cool head, and Roman… well, Roman ended the night on the floor.

Here is everything you need to know about Monday Night RAW.

The Visionary vs. The Steiner "Baby"

Seth Rollins hit the ring looking like a million bucks, but his focus was strictly on Bron Breakker. Seth tried to play the mentor, claiming he asked Shawn Michaels for the "best" and thought Bron would be exceptional under his "tutelage." Bron’s response? He doesn't need Seth, and he called Seth an "amazing number two." Seth clapped back by calling him "Baby Steiner" and saying he isn't even number two in his own family. Ouch.

Bye Stephanie

Before the first match, we saw Stephanie Vaquer get blindsided by Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez with Liv Morgan lurking. Poor Stephanie is reportedly going to be out indefinitely with a shoulder injury. Clearly, those rumors of both her and Liv being banged up before Mania were not wrong.

LA Knight’s "Bloodline Redux" Grumble

LA Knight was in the back and specifically annoyed with the Usos. He interrupted their interview, reminding Jey that he became a champion without Roman. He’s firmly against this "Bloodline Redux" and put them both on notice that he won’t be standing by if they get back to those old shenanigans with Roman.

Lucha Libre & Identity Crises

Things got weird with Los Grandes Americanos during the New Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) vs. Rey Mysterio match. We’ve got masks, plates in masks, and a whole lot of confusion. Despite the heels trying to cheat by putting a metal plate in the mask, the Original Grande (Chad Gable) stopped them, and Rey picked up the win! The real takeaway? The definitive Grande Americano match is set for May 30th in AAA, and honestly, we are praying the New Grande keeps his mask.

The Icy Queen & The Shoe

Becky Lynch is out here talking about making history as a 3-time IC Champ, but Iyo Sky is not impressed. They had a banger of a match, but then Asuka showed up to be a hater. Iyo took off her shoe (??), Asuka tripped her, and Becky won the match. Asuka then choked out Iyo, screaming that she "killed the family." Through it all, the audience was chanting for Kairi Sane—and we get it, we miss her too.

I Believe in... Firing Logan Paul?

Joe Hendry had a "concert," and the crowd was living for it. He basically asked if we could fire Logan Paul, which Logan did NOT appreciate. Honestly, haven't we been asking for this for years? It felt good to hear Joe say it out loud. Logan came out yelling like a toddler whose iPad was taken away. He and Austin Theory tried to start a fight, but the Street Profits (looking incredible) chased them off. Shout out to both of them showing off their hard work in the gym. Was that a new move I saw?

Oba Femi’s Open Challenge

Grayson Waller was backstage complaining to Adam Pearce and ended up in a match with Oba Femi. It was a quick demolition. After the win, Oba announced a weekly Open Challenge. Any takers? Probably not if they value their ribs!

Hometown Hero & Judgment Day Ties

Roxanne Perez had a heart-to-heart with Liv Morgan. Liv asked if she trusts her, and Roxanne couldn’t quite say the words out loud. Instead, she nodded, which is questionable at best. Finn Bálor made a cameo in the clubhouse to warn Roxanne that no one in Judgment Day should be trusted. Later, Roxanne and Raquel took on Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. Since they were in Laredo, the crowd went wild for Roxanne! Judgment Day took the win after Liv interfered, but I did like the fire between Bayley and Liv… do I smell a new rival?

The Final Word: Acknowledge… The Chaos?

Roman Reigns closed the show giving a "history lesson" about how he made the new World Title prestigious. After all, it was created to spite him, and look now—he’s taken that title to another level. Jacob Fatu interrupted to give his answer about facing Roman at Backlash and didn't hold back. He said he’s been grinding and "not knowing where his next meal is" for 12 years while Roman was living the high life.

Roman tried to call it "nepotism," but Jacob snapped and choked him out with the Samoan Death Grip, promptly informing him that he is taking everything from The OTC. Roman eventually accepted the Backlash match while lying on the mat.

Roman vs. Jacob at Backlash? Sign us up. Just maybe put a "Viewer Discretion" warning on the screen for Roman’s close-ups. Our hearts can’t take it!

The road to Backlash is officially paved with bad blood and serious insults. With the family in shambles and new rivals like Liv and Bayley circling each other, the drama is only getting started. But now we want to know from you: does Roman have what it takes to survive the Samoan Death Grip at Backlash, or is it finally time for a new Tribal Chief to take the seat? Acknowledge your pick in the comments! ☝️
